well, the FeedWordPress plugin looks promising. Some things don't quite work like I would like, but they can probably be tweaked; one issue is, I think, a logic error (I'll post on the forum #tomorrow) but I'm pretty sure I can fix that for myself anyway. And there are things specifically related to the type of feed I want to import stuff from: a StatusNet/GNUsocial feed. But all in all I'm quite close to what I want to do - so, more fun #tomorrow!
