     @simsa0: Actually any site can easily do what you want: <a href="…" target="_blank">linkname</a>. No user loses any control: That just tells the browser that it would be advisable to open the link in a new tab or window.

     @drak that is precisely what I do NOT want as it changes the default and opening the link in the current tab is then much harder than opening a link in a new tab when the target is not there. It is therefore also deprecated for accessibility reasons.

     @mk target _blank should always open in a not-yet-existing tab.
