@johnnynull for me this means:Mozilla & products are no longer to be considered #libre->We need libre forks, maybe Iceweasel/Icecat can help
-
@johnnynull ...but this won't help much against the spreading of #DRM in the internet
-
@mcscx @johnnynull please take into account that the etherpad discussion was a record of a discussion taking place at a conference - it's NOT a 'official' decision-making document. It DOES document how some influential people think about the issue though.
-
@mcscx @johnnynull there is also a 'Restricted Media Community Group' (note: a Community Group is NOT an 'offical working group' but may provide 'input' to WG work); An interesting email discussion in that group is taking place here (not the top post - follow the 'Reply' links to follow the discussion): http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-restrictedmedia/2013Oct/0003.html
-
@mcscx and then there's this blog (and discussion) in the W3C site: http://www.w3.org/blog/2013/05/perspectives-on-encrypted-medi/#comment-13411 - comment: "Why does it protect video, but not photographic works or books!?" and so it goes...
-
@mcscx Now considering signing up for the 'Restricted Media' CG to let my voice heard as a photographer who is *against* locking up photographs (similar to video).
-
@mk @mcscx @johnnynull joined the mailing list - now to see how to join the group (http://www.w3.org/community/restrictedmedia/) itself...
-
@mk theoretically I still have an account, though my (then) employer no longer exists... it might work
-
@mk weird - my account still shows me as employee of Macromedia (though I never 'represented' them - only Allaire corp which they took over) - so let's wait and see if my application (where I stated I have no longer an 'employment relationship') goes through...
