   Yay! I had to (hard-)reboot lappy Dennis, but now a ping of my domain just assigned to Linode WORKS - so it looks somehow the laptop was caching DNS data: not very helpful for development! Not clear if it's Linux Mint or the underlaying Debian dictating this behavior.

     Now, if I try to connect to the new subdomain via SSH (no parameters given), or from the browser (no port specified), it just hangs. That's GOOD, because nothing is (or should b) listening to port 22 or 80. Succes! (so far). On with …
