Apple's "secure boot" in the 2018 macbook pro is more aptly called restricted boot. It prevents GNU/Linux from accessing the laptop's ssd drive. We've been warning about these kinds of restrictions since Microsoft

I stopped using Macs in 2004, because Apple tried to use the TPM chip in a developer Mac to keep them from porting MacOSX. 14 years.

We don't know for sure if Apple's boot restrictions are at fault. It
could just be Apple's typical practice of preinstalling nonfree software
and refusing to reveal how their hardware works, causing free software
for Apple hardware to often be incomplete.drak gefällt das.
