@superdicq do you have URL? RD "The FSF posted about GNU Social today & it seems a lot of servers are exploding with new users. Keep it up!"
-
I worry that the @FSF mentioned only quitter.se, and any new people attracted to the !Fediverse will all end up on quitter.se
-
agree. the article by Libby Reinish (from Feb 28) needs an update: https://www.fsf.org/twitter
-
@bobjonkman FSF, come on! Why they love Quitter so much?
-
Possible reason:the article was written in February & they wanted to mention an instance w/ open registration. But ACK, this need correction
-
they won't hear you, use this: @fsf@status.fsf.org

@lnxw37 @bobjonkman they shouldn't have mentioned or recommended ANY public instance. They should have told the truth that if you want control, freedom and #fataportability , learn how to install your own instance. On public sites you are (still) locked in with your data. You cannot export and move to a new instance without abandoning your data, contacts and everything! This is pretty similar to twitter or Facebook! #FSF should not endorse such platforms. If the #FSF did what you say they did, it is very misleading! See here for more about the problem http://oracle.skilledtests.com/notice/385930
