     @mcscx besides, it came into being precisely because 'tweet' was NOT a term we wanted to use, and 'notice', 'message' and 'post' were deemed too generic, and the first doesn't work as a verb either. (And now Evan has introduced the even more ambiguous 'note' for pump.io - we must avoid that term!)

     @mk (though I like dent, too - but “pretty memories” aren’t a strong reason when trying to get many user with a currently small userbase).

     @drak because, as I explained to Evan, 'note' is far less precise than 'notice'; it doesn't have the 'publishing' connotation that notice has, for instance. You can make a note on a page in a book, or on note paper.

     @mcscx I agree that Post is usable, too - it works as a verb as well as a noun, and has the same 'publishing' connotation 'notice' has (which 'Note' doesn't) but is shorter.
