@drak I decided I didn’t like Flattr… I wouldn’t want to use a bank that kept the funds I didn’t spend, either.
-
is that the case? (I never was in the situation of not having done a single flattr in a given month)
-
I treat #Flattr as a payment processor which ensures that I never overspend. It is the realization of a culture flatrate. @flattr

@laurelrusswurm afair they stopped doing that. On the other hand you only needed to have subscriptions &then not used funds aren't a problem
-
@drak I know people with pay-as-you-go cell phones where the money you haven’t used at month end disappears if you don’t add more…
-
@drak ... and “gift cards” here used to “expire.” To me it seems being made to pay money for nothing is a dubious practice at best.
-
@drak …as soon as I put in money, they froze my account, demanded I email my driver’s license front & back #NotWorthIt #NoWayInHell
-
@drak ...to be clear, the “they” who insisted I had to email primary ID sent “for my own security” was Moneybookers, not Flattr
-
@drak And even in a good economy, there are plenty of people who can’t afford to lose any amount of money. (This is not a good economy)
-
@laurelrusswurm I did not use Moneybookers for #Flattr (rather #PayPal which I sadly need for other things anyway), and I never had an issue with payments… they look pretty sane to me.
-
@drak I won’t use #PayPal (it froze Pirate Party of Canada’s funds-when needed for 1st election; and froze #FreeByron‘s defense fund)

@drak I got the idea that Moneybookers was an EU Paypal… surprised it refunded my money. last I heard MB was rebranding or something.
