!fediverse does anyone know where to download the old Seesmic version (apk) that still works with StatusNet? it's installed on my oldphone but I don't have the apk :( @mcscx maybe?
-
I have a working Seesmic apk I can send to you by e-mail :-)
-
@mcscx let me check if my "backup" was successful first; I memtioned you I had a vague memory you had a download location for it since you mentioned installing the specific version multiple times ... looks like I do have an APK - hidi…

@mk The seesmic version here is 1.7.6, works with avatars unlike the following version. You should be able to fetch it at http://qttr.at/c9n

@mcscx oh, great. I think mine is 1.8.1 or something like that (last StatusNet-compatible version) but I'll grab this as well, just in case!
-
@mcscx got that, too. Thanks!

To transfer apps between phones try using #Kerplapp, which is supposed to turn your !Android phone into a mini #Fdroid repository https://guardianproject.info/2013/11/18/turn-your-device-into-an-app-store/

@bobjonkman if it's like an F-droid repository it sounds like it would not transport the app's settings and data as well - but that's precisely my problem. other apps I can just reinstall, or find a (by now) better replacement.
-
on a rooted phone you should be able to copy /data/data/<app>. There's also Titanium Backup but it probably needs root too.
-
@mcscx yes, because on my new rooted phone I can browse there. But my old phone isn't rooted.
