     @mcscx @donkrawallo Hab früher bisschen mit Open- und NetBSD gespielt. Gibt es Vorteile von kFreeBSD ggü Debian GNU/Linux bzgl. Ressourcen?

     @haydar70 Auf PIII 450 MHz, 384 MB: GhostBSD LiveCD (m/Openbox); lief recht zäh ggü. Knoppix & beim Installieren gabs "insufficient memory"

     @haydar und da kein DVD-Lw anschließbar, wie für das normale FreeBSD-Installationsmedium notwendig, wollte ich Debian GNU/KFreeBSD versuchen

     @haydar Debian GNU/!Linux kann man bzgl Ressourcen kaum unterbieten, vllt bleibt kFreeBSD wenigstens in der Nähe davon.

     @mcscx Da das Userland identisch ist, wird das nicht viel Unterschied machen (jedenfalls kaum zum Besseren hin).

     @mcscx Ich habe mir ein abgespecktes Debian G/L für einen alten Laptop gebastelt, läuft trotz Pentium und 80 MB RAM noch annehmbar. :)

     mir gehts bei !Debian !GNU/k !FreeBSD um das Experiment und andererseits auch mal um über den !Linux -Tellerrand hinauszuschauen.

     ja, da geht was, solang man keinen Iceweasel anwerfen will. Habe noch ein Notebook mit 32 MB RAM und !Debian als portablen #Thinclient :-)

     @mcscx Ah, ich habe noch in Erinnerung, dass damals vor ca. 7,8 Jahren NetBSD etwas genügsamer war als Debian.

     @haydar70 ...d.h. die LogicalVolumes. Ist ein Parallelsystem zu dem einer Bekannten, die das Ding produktiv verwendet.

     @mcscx sounds good. Tested FreeBSD installation yesterday after years again (in VirtualBox). First impress: DHCP wasn't working :(

     @mcscx For example udev/systemd is the first piece of software I don't fully understand.Way too complex. And violates "one tool, one job"

     @haydar70 I chose Expert Installation and deselected Desktop Environment and installed xorg, openbox, xterm&iceweasel by aptitude

     @haydar70 I think !Debian doesn't use systemd by default. No real issues w/udev yet, so I didn't need to understand it ;-)
