Is there a way to improve the performance of !statusnet on weak servers? I experience a quite long reaction time, which keeps me from asking friends whether they want to join on my server… (better no experience that bad experience)

depends, without further look into your logs: 1. activate queue daemons <- this will be the most effective change 2. unsub from users who don't exist anymore (otherwise your SN polls them for nothing) 3. set high performance to false
drak gefällt das. -
@drak did you implement one of those changes already and did it help ?
-
@erkanyilmaz I looked into the queue demons, but I think my shared hoster does not give me the needed access.
-
1. set the queue daemons up like here: http://federation.skilledtests.com/Statusnet_problems.html#start_the_queue_daemons <- this should work anywhere 3. and the perf. option you put in your config.php with: $config['performance']['high']= false;
-
@drak ups, make it true: $config['performance']['high']= true;
-
@erkanyilmaz can I simply have a cron script which accesses <sn-server>/scripts/queuedaemon.php every 15 min or so?
-
@erkanyilmaz With queuedaemon.php I get file(/proc/cpuinfo): failed to open stream
-
I have a shorter time interval than that, you can try out which time setting is more suitable for you
-
@erkanyilmaz queuedaemons.php does not work for me: It complains that it has to be run from the commandline and can’t open /proc/cpuinfo.
-
@erkanyilmaz but setting $config['performance']['high']= true; did make a huge difference. Thanks!

kannst du mal im IRC schauen bitte ? (müsstest schon ein ping sehen von mir) Wir müssen ja deine Server interna net in der Öffentlichkeit ausbreiten :-)
