   Does #Skype depend on #PulseAudio, or maybe on some #GNOME tool that itself depends on Pulse? I would doubt that the current owner would do much to support other desktops.

     It has been a few years since I used or installed Skype. I guess you can tell.

     @lnxw48 It's relatively fresh news: latest Microsoft Skype release (4.3.0.37) depends on PulseAudio and old releases can no longer connect to network.
