Oh well finally got an automated email about my support request about StatusNet daemons : “Due to the delay in response, we are auto-escalating this ticket so we can resolve the issue as quickly as possible” what does that mean? :-S

if I start responding, another day will be ruined. I’d rather close the ticket and move on.

I am using a hilarious method to post notices. Type, send wait 5 seconds and reload the page. If not I get an error. Stupid SN somehow posts it. What a fucking waste.

And people still use this shit due to political reasons. those who created #StatusNet abused that political will by spreading misinformation that this is ready to provide an alternative to twitter and other proprietary, centralized networks. That was bullshit. This is experimental software. They should have said the fucking truth.

1) Clients don’t work 2) Image posting doesn’t work 3) Twitter bridge doesn’t work – even after the upgrade 4) POSTING doesn’t work (wtf) 5) It is nearly impossible to backup and restore a site. Yes, this is a nice experiment. #StatusNetRants

and I cannot use that weird posting method when I am on mobile. So I have stopped using #StatusNet when I’m travelling.

Hurrah I heard from hosting people again! : “ We were able to recreate the issue. Please wait while I escalate this to senior server managers.” Sounds promising :)

Update from the webhost (about #statusnet daemons):
“I talked with our senior server managers and could find that pcntl is not made available in our shared servers due to the large number of PHP processes it may fork. You would need at least a VPS to use this functionality.”
