     @windigo @perloid I recently tried a vi clone called elvis. It is a little weird. Opens in its own term window instead of re-using the existing window. But one big positive is that I only use it locally, so I always know which term is local.

     Otherwise, I've started training myself that 'hostname -f' is the first thing I enter when I switch back into a term.

     @lnxw48 I have hostname built-into my prompt using the "\h" escape - helps prevent mistakes. :)
