   #Linode goal for today accomplished: more/better ssh configuration (works also for sshfs!) and installed and set up Fail2Ban. #tomorrow I think I'll set up and play with WebMin and her sisters ;-)

     @mk and just to prove I'm not doing this for nothing: in auth.log I see that yesterday there was already a whole bunch of attempts to login via ssh, some with various random ports, some with user root - all failed, of course.

     @mk Yeah, SSH and web servers gets hammered pretty heavily. The logs can be a bit unnerving. Good job securing things! :)

     @windigo yes, first real VPS I set up I was amazed at how many break in attempts there were; support helped me to batten down the hatches there. It was quite disconcerting
