I've moved from #MySQL to #MariaDB before. That was trouble-free. I suspect that #Fedora's versions are somewhat newer than #Ubuntu's, so you probably will not have a problem.

@aqeel With !StatusNet, I found I needed to set DB schemachecking to “script” in config.php, or #MySQL / #MariaDB constantly doing lots of disk i/o. I’d check that, too.

@gregoriosw @theru Maybe there’s a difference then. I’m using #MariaDB 10.0 on #Debian and #Ubuntu VMs. Never a problem on multiple #OpenVZ VMs. (but occasional upgrade issues on #DigitalOcean)
