@benfell @ry At one point, I believe #Gravatar was enabled by default on #StatusNet. I once discovered it by accident when I had an avatar on a newly-installed SN instance. I am pretty sure that was changed even before the transition to #GNUsocial.

Can anyone recommend a good and working (transparent, easy-on) #Android #widget for displaying #statusnet updates? #AndStatus seems to offer one but this is neither usable nor good-looking unfortunately... :(

It appears that all status dot net subdomains redirect to a restaurant site. Two known exceptions: the forum and the place where E14N hosts avatars for users of its #PumpIO servers. #StatusNet

@dragnucs @aroque Nice idea. :-) Well, I think that should be a goal for later as for the current state of the code it is still to much #StatusNet (where the main web #UI is "hard-coded" into the software).

@aroque I believe that many of Evan's former customers for #StatusNet Inc used "private" settings. For a while, #OStatus #federation was not even activated by default in !SN. However, I think any !Twitter style site on the public Internet is not ever really private.
