Spent much of the night mollycoddling a !gNewSense install, only to find that my hardware (HP ProBook) is not fully supported. I suppose I could eventually get the WiFi to connect and the screen to use all the pixels, but why bother messing around with modprobe and its ilk when the problem is likely solved in another distro? Now installing !Trisquel from the netboot image; it's based on a more recent distro ( !Ubuntu 14.04) rather than !gNewSense's !Debian Wheezy. Will be adding !Mate desktop later today.
