@phenethylamine @coolboymew @normandy no.  and I think most people joined #masto probably because they got unnerved by the culture of tweeter and such, rather than because they demanded open source software and federated social networking resistant to censorship (in fact, most demand quite the opposite in the latter case).  so their reasons for being here are similarly not the same as ours.  I'm inspired that at least some change their minds after seeing the difference.
