I listened to @notklaatu 's #hpr show about gitolite and thought that ACL files in git sounds both appropriate and clever, but can also imagine it works to a certain point.

https://wiki.gitano.org.uk/about/what-is/ does make gitano sound very interesting. Also quite git-oriented configuration, but with sandboxed lua hooks. Cool.

I guess the "lace" ACLs are easier to admin than gitolite's as I understand it pretty basic system?

Sounds far more useful than gitolite, but still with a minimalist attitude.
