@mk also, a Cinnamon window can be pinned ('sticky') from the context menu (no button) and can be rolled up from (configured) double-click (didn't work at first, but after a reboot it started working). So only gripe left is the huuuuge menu that takes up almost half the screen. Maybe some theming can rescue it?
