@laurelrusswurm don't worry, I'm running testing ( #jessie now ) and I know what that means. In my limited experience it's just un usual for something so fundamental to break, even in testing. I'm mainly miffed about how long it took me to figure it out which demonstrates my still relative inexperience with Linux.
