The biggest problem with #GnuPG encrypted e-mail is that the meta-data is not encrypted, so I expect that #Darkmail will be designed to fix this. The other biggest problem with GnuPG encrypted e-mail is that GnuPG offers no forward secrecy - if your keys are compromised, so are all your previous messages encrypted with those keys. I hope Darkmail fixes that too. And the other other biggest problem with GnuPG encrypted e-mail is that it's just too difficult for the average person to use, even with good tools like #Enigmail.
