@marcus Other than promoting the use of the #newhere tag (and encouraging people to monitor the tag to greet newcomers), !diaspora is no more welcoming to newcomers than !gnusocial is. I like and use both networks, but I think this one’s inhabitants are more friendly and helpful than any other #federated #socnet.
