!GNUsocial can import an #Atom or #RSS feed with #PubSubHubub into a timeline. Select "Settings, Mirroring, Atom or RSS feed" (I'm still on the StatusNet code, so your menu selections may be slightly different)

    For #RSS / #Atom reading I use the #Brief extension for !firefox / !icecat http://brief.mozdev.org/

Rebuilding #Atom plug-in after installation is normal use case, isn't it? Why don't just rebuild it automatically?

  4. lnxw48 lnxw48 oldnds

@nds I've now read one of the submitted issues. ISTM the person does not understand how feeds work (maybe add to your docs). #Spigot is a new #RSS / #Atom subscriber, so it grabs everything that any other feed subscriber would see. If $US…

@modemjunkie Are the #NoAgenda shows available as an #Atom or #RSS feed so I can add them to my podcatcher?

  6. lnxw48 lnxw48 cmhobbs , saziusmayfirst

@cmhobbs @sazius Also, one of the original reasons I started using a feed reader was that Mark Pilgrim published irregularly and I tired of visiting Dive Into Mark each evening to see whether there was a new post. #RSS and #Atom make that work out well.

What code #editors do you use? I am using #Emacs but also trying #Atom. I don't like that Atom is heavyweight #programming

very busy preparing my notes (adding dates and such where missing) so I can start "importing" them in my #wordpress on Hal (the #nas). I'd also like to import my various rumblings about setting up WordPress here into posts, so I look…

  10. lnxw48 lnxw48 redmatrix , hosh , morph , encycl

@hosh @morph @encycl For most blogging uses, the blog plugin is useless: no separate path where blog posts aggregate (e.g. "/username/blog"), no separate #RSS / #Atom feed, no support for MetaWeblog / Blogger API, no embeds (images, audio…

something I just learned. !GNUSocial conversations have #atom feeds :-) You can follow a specific conversation remotely. Example : http://is.gd/hZuyB9

  14. lnxw48 lnxw48 gomerx , x11r5

@X11R5 I think #Liferea just reads feeds. If you wish to mirror #RSS or #Atom feeds, you have to set that up in #GNUSocial or #Friendica. //CC: @gomerx

  16. lnxw48 lnxw48 StatusNet , thelovebugmoved

@thelovebug In past experiences, !sn seemed to wait until a certain number of posts accumulated in an #RSS / #Atom feed before it grabbed them and mirrored the posts.

  17. lnxw48 lnxw48 StatusNet , GNUSocial , daw

@daw I don’t know whether two-way communication works, but #WordPress produces #RSS and #Atom feeds, so !sn / !gnusocial should be able to subscribe & receive posts and / or comments feeds.
