@windigo Not sure if #Debian needs this, but when I install / upgrade #PHP 5.6 on #CentOS 6.x, I have to use #PECL to rebuild 'intl' or lots of things don't work right. (Because this isn't OS default version of PHP.)

@dragnucs Also, backslashes have a special meaning within #PHP strings. I don't like re-using backslashes without their special meaning. I'm not saying it is bad or that it increases errors, just that I don't like the way they did that. @roland @mcscx

#PHP 5.5 is standard in #CentOS 6.x, #RHEL 6.x, #Debian 7.x, I believe. None of which are EOL yet, so OS vendor maintains patchset vs the old codebase.

... the above sounds more negative than I meant it. What I meant is that I hope that PHP-based wikis implement full #federated interop with #SFW, so people who cannot host Node-based apps can still host wiki instances for GS. #PHP #Node.js #federation

@teslasmoustache @vinzv Something to be aware of. Newest !gnusocial code is written for #PHP version 5.5 or greater. So #raspian (because it is based on #debian #wheezy) with default software packages might not work correctly.
