@daw You should ask @mattl directly what he considers "static" ... if he means #HTML that is not generated by #PHP, you'll need something other than standard #Wordpress posting tools.

@daw Not sure what @mattl calls 'static', but most people mean a page that is not generated (e.g., by #PHP). As far as I know, all #WordPress pages are dynamically (re-)generated at display time unless something caches the PHP-generated pages.

@roland Your webserver should be able to read anything it uploads, since it should automatically have user permissions. Exception: if you're using #FastCGI and running your #PHP daemon under a different user, you may need to fiddle with group memberships. CC: @mmn

The #PHP date.timezone thing angers every time I run into it. It is about the stupidest of PHP’s many flaws. (Not that #modx, #drupal, et al could not work around it if they were not lazy.)

Given how many different php.ini files there are on many systems, requiring the editing of date.timezone is rather #stupid. Should silently use UTC unless otherwise configured. #PHP
