That was by design. Intent was to motivate people to use non-web clients, or so it was said around the time #Pump.IO debuted.

Yeah, I do not believe @evan reads his e-mail every day. Maybe once per week. He works elsewhere, so has limited time for #Pump.IO (much of which goes to the #W3C standardization project).

It appears that all status dot net subdomains redirect to a restaurant site. Two known exceptions: the forum and the place where E14N hosts avatars for users of its #PumpIO servers. #StatusNet
