@question Also, though #Twitter offers a full data export, it is utterly meaningless, because one cannot really rehost it elsewhere.

@question I do think depending solely on a for-profit corporation to host your stuff is a bad idea, especially if one has any technical ability at all. Though #Twitter still endures, there are likely dozens of similar sites that closed with little or no warning or data export.
