@vsatayamas Most of the time, #hotel_INET still allows widely-used #VPN software to pass through. Try establishing an #OpenVPN or #IPSec connection, then shooting #ssh through that tunnel.

#hotel_inet really has high latency tonight.

So I bought a prepaid #hotspot, but most of the time in the places I'm staying, cell coverage is so poor that it won't connect or it connects only at exceedingly slow speeds. #hotel_inet (whether #hotel_wifi or the occasionally available …

It isn't the presence of feed repeaters. It is the signal to noise ratio (actual people to autoposters) and my very limited INET access in the various hotels in #Louisiana. #hotel_inet / #hotel_wifi / #hotspot all too intermittent and too slow.

So I'm not going to completely pull the plug on either #Bitmessage or #Twister yet, but neither one seems to have much personal interaction going on*, so I expect to greatly reduce the time and effort invested in either one. Twister is fu…

Got a tip from Mark about a place that I might be able to stay for more than 2-3 nights at a time. I'm really tired of changing from one #hotel to the next one. And don't even get me started on #hotel_inet.

download: 0.64Mbps; Why even bother? #hotel_inet

@gargron @mmn It has been a few months since the last git pull. This is because (1) work schedule and unsteady #hotel_INET access and (2) I'm storing energy for the upcoming server moves.

@daw First time in three weeks that #hotel_inet seems to be working correctly, but the Microcast #Pump.io instance is still down.

Yes, I know, I can use #hotel_wifi, but it depends on the #hotel. At some, #hotel_inet is an extra charge (and then they limit speed and amount of data, so very much not worth paying for). In others, they may have zero-price access, but w…

@jonkulp @kulprit While still a few months to go before this year's conference, I suggest you ask your cellphone company about getting a MiFi hotspot. Then you shouldn't have to worry about #WiFi #hotel_inet login procedure. Maybe even su…

I must admit, #hotel_inet has been pretty good this trip. Tonight's outage is the first since the middle of September.

tonight seems to be a good night for both the #hotel_inet and the #vpn that rides atop it.

@jim Also, #Twister seems really sensitive to NATs and firewalls. Can never get it to connect from #hotel_inet.
