#Lispyscript is said to be #JavaScript with a syntax more like #Lisp. http://url.federati.net/Qexi1

BusinessInsider dot com is a severe example of a bloated, #JavaScrippled site. View-source reveals that 20-30 of the 1700 lines are actual content, which site hides unless JS turned on. Most of the source is #JavaScript, presumably for ad-serving and tracking purposes.

@kzimmermann Yeah, maybe. There used to be a !Diaspora pod with experimental client-side encrypted DMs. If you trust end-to-end encryption by #JavaScript, then #Pidder's http://url.federati.net/R9D5Q library might be useful for implementing such functions.

#Javascript in every browser is more like "When everybody has nails, use a hammer."

Just because CTRL+U will show me the #HTML content that you hide so your #JavaScript can display it does not make it acceptable to hide it.

#Javascrippled web pages (dependent on Javascript) don't work in secure browsers, don't work with accessibility devices, but most importantly, don't get indexed by search engines. It's that third point that usually convinces clients to avoid #Javascript dependencies.

Was so impressed by the vim of #Iceweasel on my #EeePC with #JavaScript blocked, I'm doing the same on my desktop computer. Highly recommend it. Tho' it's alarming how many sites require #JavaScript to load the primary content of a page. http://ur1.ca/407bf

I don't know if elinks supports #JavaScript, but it brings many things that lynx lacks.

@x11r5 Yes, another #Firefox update. Make sure you're using ad-blocking and restricting which sites can run #JavaScript, too.

I've looked at a lot, but I've now ended up with three new editors/IDEs installed: 1) KDevelop (pretty powerful but also feels complicated), 2) Brackets (in principle for only HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but plugins add a lot of suppor…

@question @nsa Me, subscribing to the #javascript tag? You must be mistaken.

If you rely on #Javascript to perform web form field validation, you're doing server side validation wrong

If you have a #Javascript web form I'm unlikely to ever use it. #Javascrippled
