Hey, #pulseaudio, how about not silencing live-microphones so much by default that they are unusable? fix: pactl set-source-volume 2 15000
-
alsamixer -c 1 # circumvents #pulseaudio which was grabbing my default #alsa mixer soundcard. I hear my music again ⇒ Happily back to work ☺
-
Darn! There's a #pulseaudio / #alsa/ #chromium bug… #firefox, audio. #chrome, audio. chromium… distortion. Hints any1?
-
@roland Removing #PulseAudio is still the fastest easiest way to fix sound. Almost always works.
-
If your #Linux distribution is having poor sound performance (means a lot stuttering) maybe #pulseaudio is installed. This was here the case: I tried to playback a 340p video from #youtube and had bad stuttering in sound. When I switched…

@daw Did you try restarting #PulseAudio? http://url.federati.net/QuwA-
Also, I found that PA doesn't like long login sessions. You may need to reboot an hour or so before you plan to record.
There's a reason I say #ALSA4Ever. -
@daw Last I knew, #Skype depended on #PulseAudio. Maybe you can restart PA and see whether Goog calling works again. (Is this something built into Gmail webmail or something different?)

mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=0.0 -vo null -shuffle * */* # at least I have music even though #pulseaudio broke once again.

Relly #240696 @cmhobbs I'm not a fan of #PulseAudio. Even after all these years, I find that removing it and just using #ALSA fixes almost all audio problems, but no amount of tinkering will make PA work reliably.

@x11r5 Did you take today off from work? If you're not working, #bot, we may change your name to #PulseAudio. #ALSA4Ever
-
@question Likewise, it is good to see you still alive. I'm glad to know that #PulseAudio did not drive you to suicide after all.
-
@x11r5 I doubt that #PulseAudio has anything to do with #queuedaemons. I'd expect #systemd to take over their functions, just like it has for almost everything else.
-
@x11r5 Admit it. You want #PulseAudio to work, but will never happen. #ALSA4Ever

@daw Everything works without #pulseaudio. Except, I’m told, #Skype. #ALSA
-
Does #Skype depend on #PulseAudio, or maybe on some #GNOME tool that itself depends on Pulse? I would doubt that the current owner would do much to support other desktops.
-
#pulseaudio and #bluetooth are driving me mad. Yesterday worked (also between reboots) and now the headset doesn't show up in pavucontrol. The headset is paired with the laptop but that's the only thing that works. Tired of such randomness...

#systemd is a lot more complex than #pulseaudio - and when it breaks I lose more than audio: I have an unbootable system. → http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7503346.html#7503346
