@bob Bad mistake for the computer companies. I personally think #Win8 / #Win8.1 and #Win10 are one of the drivers behind declining PC sales. If people are willing to buy hardware to install their own OS, they're still buying a non-tablet.

@nds I never got comfortable with #Win8 or #Win8.1, so #Win10 (in desktop mode) is a great improvement. In tablet mode, 8 wins easily, IMO.

@nds @windigo A lot of people were fooled into creating linked #MSFT accounts during the #Win8 --> #Win8.1 upgrade. Opt-out was not very visible.

@sazius I've noticed that during some recent updates for #Win8.1, almost all applications close with errors. This is with 4 cores and 8G of RAM.

Oh, that was #weird. #Pale_Moon just bloated up to 6 GiB of RAM on the #Win8.1 laptop. This is what usually happens with #Chrome / #Chromium

@daw @nds #Palemoon is my main browser on the #Win8.1 machine. It and Cygwin are the main reasons I have not taken the chance of fighting UEFI to install and use a #Linux or BSD on that laptop.

The old Pope resigned a couple of years ago. I don’t think the current guy will resign at all. (This is especially true if he’s still waiting for the #Win8.1 update & reboot process to finish before he resigns. He’ll be 900 years old by then.)
