The concentration of centralized hosting on #github is the big issue driving this. Now that #gitorious and #google have given up, #gitlab faces a "grow or die" choice. I expected #bitbucket to make a move to acquire more (paid and unpaid)…

@roland I believe @mmn is referring to the #gitorious software being abandonware. Unless some group of people steps up to maintain it, it gradually becomes less useful in comparison to other options.
