It looks like Sandra will be wearing #LinuxMint. #Mint is the first distro I've tried during this assignment that sees and activates the #WiFi card. I'll have to uninstall some garbage ( #Flash and #Java preinstalled ), but I'll have a usable system again.

@deavmi I had a #Pascal class when I was a college student. I liked Turbo Pascal ( #TP7 ), but struggled to understand Turbo Pascal for Windows / #Delphi / Object Pascal. That preceded my #Java and #CPlusPlus classes, so I may have just not been ready for objects and events.

I can see their point. #Java is pretty dangerous to run in the browser in recent years. But #Flash is similarly dangerous and AFAIK no one except #Apple is brave enough to say they don't want it around any more.

@dragnucs Unfortunately, I don’t know about any such tutorials. Most stuff at work is #Oracle db with #Java powered internal web sites or shudder legacy Powerbuilder client apps. A few ASP.Net sites operated by contractors, but nothing I get to touch.
